| Exploitation Conditions | A valid administrator session token is required - the route is mounted exclusively behind the administrator token middleware (PR:H per CVSS 4.0), so unauthenticated access and access by non-administrator roles are not possible. No additional configuration, special feature flag, or non-default deployment mode is required; the vulnerability exists in the default password-update flow for every administrator account. The only in-code guard is a hardcoded rejection of a single demo email address, which does not protect production accounts. Exploitation is limited to targets running IDURAR ERP CRM through v4.1.1 and is further constrained to deployments where the backend API is network-accessible to the attacker. Single-administrator deployments have no peer accounts to target and are not exposed to cross-account takeover from this flaw alone. |
| Impact | The CVSS 4.0 vector AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N scores 8.6 (High), with PR:H as the primary limiting factor. In practice, the PR:H requirement means exploitation is constrained to actors who already hold a valid administrator credential - unauthenticated and low-privilege attackers cannot reach this endpoint. However, in any multi-administrator deployment, a single compromised or malicious administrator can silently take over all peer administrator accounts, making this a meaningful lateral-privilege-escalation and account-takeover risk within that threat model. EPSS data is absent from the provided intelligence, so exploitation probability cannot be quantified numerically. KEV status is not confirmed, and no public exploit code has been identified. The flaw is nonetheless straightforwardly exploitable - low complexity, no race condition - so the gap between CVSS severity and real-world risk is not large here. The primary mitigating factor is the administrator-only attack surface; organizations with strictly one administrator account per deployment are not exposed to cross-account takeover. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker holding a compromised administrator account issues a GET request to the read handler, supplying account identifiers in the URL path to enumerate other active administrator accounts and retrieve their internal IDs. The attacker then sends a PATCH or PUT password-update request to the update endpoint with a targeted administrator's ID in the URL path and a known replacement password; the backend validates only that the caller presents a valid administrator token and updates the target account's password without verifying ownership. The attacker immediately authenticates as the hijacked administrator, gaining full platform access under that identity. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Aug 26, 2026
Insecure Direct Object Reference in IDURAR ERP CRM through v4.1.1 allows any authenticated administrator to overwrite the password of any other administrator account by supplying an arbitrary account identifier in the URL path of the password-update endpoint. The backend handler resolves the target account from the caller-controlled path parameter rather than the session token, and the two are never compared, enabling full account takeover of peer administrators. No public exploit has been identified at time of analysis, but the logic flaw is mechanically straightforward for any holder of a valid administrator token.
RemediationAI
No vendor-released patch has been independently confirmed at time of analysis - the VulnCheck advisory covers through v4.1.1 without citing a fixed version. Operators should monitor the upstream GitHub issue at https://github.com/idurar/idurar-erp-crm/issues/1470 and the main repository at https://github.com/idurar/idurar-erp-crm for a fix, which should compare the authenticated session identity against the path parameter before issuing any update. As a compensating control, restrict the administrator role to a single trusted account wherever multi-admin workflows are not operationally required, eliminating the peer-account takeover surface. Where multiple administrators are necessary, enforce network-level controls (firewall rules, VPN gateway) so the ERP backend API is not reachable from untrusted network segments, limiting the AV:N exposure. Audit application logs for password-update requests where the path-supplied identifier does not match the session token's subject - this divergence is the precise indicator of exploitation.

CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) - a classic IDOR pattern. The vulnerable handler at backend/src/controllers/middlewaresControllers/createUserController/updatePassword.js correctly populates the authenticated user from the JWT/token middleware but then constructs its database update filter using the account identifier supplied in the URL path segment, without ever comparing that path identifier against the authenticated session identity. This means the authoritative session identity is effectively ignored for authorization. A companion read handler in the same controller directory accepts identifiers in the same unchecked manner, providing a built-in enumeration primitive for identifying valid target account IDs. The route is gated solely by the administrator token middleware (PR:H per CVSS 4.0), so the logic flaw is reachable by any valid administrator session. The CPE string cpe:2.3:a:idurar:idurar-erp-crm:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* indicates all tracked releases are affected.

DescriptionCVE.org
IDURAR ERP CRM changes the password of whichever account a request names rather than the account making the request. The update handler in backend/src/controllers/middlewaresControllers/createUserController/updatePassword.js resolves the authenticated user from the request that the token middleware populated, then issues its update against a filter built from the identifier in the URL path, and never compares the two. The route is mounted behind the administrator token check only, so any valid administrator session is sufficient, and the sole ownership-like guard in the handler rejects a single hardcoded demo address. A caller can therefore set an arbitrary password on any other administrator account and sign in as it. The read handler in the same controller directory accepts an identifier the same way, which supplies the identifiers needed to pick a target.
Executive ViewAI
IDURAR ERP CRM through version 4.1.1 contains a flaw in its administrator password reset function that allows any administrator to hijack the accounts of peer administrators. This enables lateral compromise within the administrative tier, potentially allowing a rogue or compromised admin to consolidate control and conceal their activities. Organizations with multiple administrators running affected versions face immediate risk of unauthorized access to sensitive business data and system configuration.
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations include: enforce principle of least privilege by minimizing the number of administrator accounts and limiting their scope, enable real-time alerting on all administrator account and password changes, mandate multi-factor authentication for all administrative access, maintain detailed audit trails of administrative actions, restrict administrative interface access to internal networks or VPN-only connectivity, and conduct regular reviews of administrator privileges and access logs for anomalies.
