2DescriptionCVE.org
A stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the notification template functionality of the endpoint /ocsreports/?function=notification. A user with administrator privileges can input malicious HTML content which is subsequently stored and displayed without proper sanitisation when other administrators access the template customisation view, allowing JavaScript code to be executed within the application’s security context and potentially compromising the sessions of other users with administrative privileges.
AnalysisAI
Stored cross-site scripting in OCS Inventory NG's ocsreports web console lets an administrator plant malicious HTML/JavaScript in the notification template (endpoint /ocsreports/?function=notification) that executes in the browser of any other administrator who opens the template customisation view. The injected script runs in the application's security context, enabling session hijacking or privileged actions against fellow admins. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires administrator privileges on the OCS Inventory NG ocsreports console to store the payload via the notification template feature at /ocsreports/?function=notification (PR:H), and a second administrator must actively navigate to the template customisation view to trigger execution (UI:A). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 base score of 9.2 is elevated largely by the scope/subsequent-system metrics (SC:H/SI:H) and the high vulnerable-system confidentiality/integrity impact, but the practical risk is tempered by PR:H - the attacker must already hold administrator privileges to store the payload - and UI:A, requiring a victim admin to actively open the affected view. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version is identified in the provided data; consult the INCIBE advisory (https://www.incibe.es/en/incibe-cert/notices/aviso/multiple-vulnerabilities-ocsreports-ocs-inventory-ng) and the OCS Inventory NG project for a fixed release and upgrade to it once published. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours: immediately restrict access to notification template customization endpoints (/ocsreports/?function=notification) to only trusted administrative users, review audit trails for suspicious template modifications, and document all current template configurations. …
