DescriptionCVE.org

Due to a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP, an authenticated attacker could generate a malicious link and make it publicly accessible. If an authenticated victim accesses this link, the injected input is processed and reflected within the DOM on the client side during page rendering, resulting in the execution of malicious content in the victim's browser context. Successful exploitation could result in a high impact to the confidentiality and a low impact to the integrity of the system, while availability remains unaffected.

AnalysisAI

DOM-based reflected Cross-Site Scripting in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP enables an authenticated attacker to craft a malicious URL and distribute it to other authenticated SAP users. When a victim accesses the link, unsanitized input is reflected and executed within the DOM in the victim's browser, resulting in high confidentiality impact - such as session token or credential theft - and low integrity impact. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must hold a valid, authenticated SAP NetWeaver account with at least low-level access (PR:L) sufficient to access and craft URLs for the affected web endpoint. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS base score of 6.3 (Medium) accurately reflects the realistic exploitation difficulty: the attacker must hold a valid SAP account (PR:L) and must socially engineer an authenticated victim into clicking a crafted link (UI:R), limiting opportunistic mass exploitation. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply the fix documented in SAP Security Note 3721424 (https://me.sap.com/notes/3721424), released as part of the SAP Security Patch Day cycle. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
