MITRE ATT&CK
2 techniques across 2 tactics: Initial Access, Execution The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up. |
| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitation requires the attacker to get a victim with access to a vulnerable Agora Project instance (any version before 26.10.0) to open a crafted URL whose visioUrl parameter carries an HTML attribute-breakout payload; the flaw triggers specifically because visioUrl bypasses the URL-sanitizing branch of the parameter filter and is urldecoded after filtering. No authentication is required (pre-authentication, PR:N), and no special server-side configuration is needed since the vulnerable parameter handling is in default request processing. The principal limiting factor is mandatory user interaction (UI:A) - the victim must click the malicious link - and the reflected (non-persistent) nature means there is no stored/self-propagating component. |
| Impact | This is a reflected cross-site scripting flaw (CWE-79) with a provided CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1 (Medium). The vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A indicates network-reachable, low-complexity, pre-authentication exploitation (PR:N confirms unauthenticated) but requires active user interaction (UI:A) - the victim must click an attacker-crafted link. Impact is confined to the subsequent system (the victim's browser) with SC:L/SI:L and no direct confidentiality/integrity/availability impact to the Agora Project server itself (VC:N/VI:N/VA:N), which is consistent with reflected XSS. No EPSS score, no CISA KEV listing, and no public POC were provided in the input, so there is no public exploit identified at time of analysis and no evidence of active exploitation. The combination of mandatory user interaction, reflected (non-persistent) delivery, and a niche product footprint means this is a genuine but modest-priority issue rather than a mass-exploitation threat - prioritize patching for internet-facing deployments but it does not demand emergency response. No key signals are directly conflicting; the main gap is the absence of EPSS/KEV/POC data, which limits confidence in real-world exploitation likelihood. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker crafts a malicious URL for a target Agora Project instance containing a visioUrl parameter with an HTML attribute-breakout payload, then delivers it to a victim via phishing email or a malicious link. Because the parameter was not routed through the URL-sanitizing filter branch and was urldecoded after filtering, the payload reflects into the page and executes arbitrary JavaScript in the victim's browser before authentication. No public POC was provided in the input. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 14, 2026
Reflected cross-site scripting in Omnispace Agora Project before 26.10.0 lets unauthenticated attackers run arbitrary JavaScript in a victim's browser by luring that user into opening a crafted URL whose visioUrl parameter carries an HTML attribute-breakout payload; no login is required (CVSS 4.0 vector PR:N), but the victim must click the link (UI:A), and the injected script executes in the origin of the Agora instance. Tracked as CVE-2026-63156 (CWE-79, CVSS 4.0 base 5.1 Medium; independently assessed CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N), the flaw is fixed in version 26.10.0, and no public exploit code was identified at time of analysis.
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: upgrade to Agora Project 26.10.0, which corrects the parameter handling in app/Common/Req.php; confirm after upgrading that requests carrying a visioUrl value no longer reflect decoded HTML-attribute content, since the public 26.10 release notes highlight 2FA, notification-recipient sorting and large-backup optimizations but do not explicitly call out this XSS fix. No backported fix for earlier release branches was identified in the provided data, so environments that cannot move to 26.10.0 should compensate at the edge: deploy a WAF or reverse-proxy rule that rejects or neutralizes requests whose visioUrl parameter contains encoded angle brackets, quotes or attribute-breaking sequences, and perform that inspection after URL-decoding to mirror the application's own decode-after-filter behavior (trade-off: legitimate visio diagram URLs containing encoded characters may be blocked, so the rule needs tuning and logging rather than silent dropping). Because exploitation requires a victim to click a link, restricting the instance to trusted networks or a VPN until patching is complete removes the reachable attack surface at the cost of external collaborator access, and while user awareness training reduces click-through rates it is not a sufficient control on its own.

Technical ContextAI · show details
Agora Project is a PHP-based collaboration/workspace application, and the flaw lives in its request parameter filtering layer (app/Common/Req.php) where the visioUrl parameter was never routed through the URL-sanitizing branch used for other parameters and was additionally urldecoded after filtering. That decode-after-filter ordering is the root cause class CWE-79 (improper neutralization of input during web page generation): percent-encoded characters survive the sanitizer, are decoded back into their dangerous form afterwards, and are then reflected into an HTML attribute context, allowing an attribute breakout that introduces attacker-controlled event handlers or script. Because the reflection is immediate and tied to the request, there is no stored or self-propagating component; the scope is changed (S:C / SC:L, SI:L) because the script executes with the Agora application origin's privileges in the victim's browser, giving limited read/write access to that origin rather than direct server-side compromise.

1DescriptionCVE.org
Omnispace Agora Project before 26.10.0 contains a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious HTML attributes by manipulating the visioUrl parameter, which was not routed through the URL-sanitizing branch of the parameter filter and was urldecoded after filtering. Attackers can craft a malicious URL containing the visioUrl parameter with an attribute breakout payload to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the victim's browser pre-authentication, with the issue fixed in version 26.10.0 via changes to app/Common/Req.php.
