| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitation requires a valid authenticated WeGIA account whose role grants access to the Material & Patrimônio (Material & Patrimony) module, and the attacker must reach the specific endpoint web/html/matPat/restaurar_produto_desocultar.php with a controlled id_produto parameter. The limiting factors are the authentication requirement (PR:L) and the module-level authorization - this cannot be triggered by an anonymous visitor. No user interaction, non-default configuration, or special platform is needed beyond running a WeGIA instance prior to 3.8.6; the flawed extract($_REQUEST) is present in the default code path. |
| Impact | The provided CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H, base 8.8) is internally consistent with the description and the source diff: a network-reachable PHP endpoint where a second extract($_REQUEST) clobbers the intval()-sanitized id_produto, interpolating attacker-controlled input into three UPDATE statements - a textbook CWE-89. The PR:L is well-justified because the description explicitly requires an authenticated user with access to the Material & Patrimônio module, so this is not an unauthenticated internet-wide risk. No EPSS score, no CISA KEV listing, and no SSVC decision data were supplied, so exploitation-probability and automatability signals are simply absent rather than low; their absence should not be read as 'safe.' There is no public exploit identified at time of analysis - the only code artifact is the vendor's fix commit, which is a patch, not a weaponized POC. Net assessment: a genuine high-impact SQL injection that is real and worth patching for any WeGIA operator, but the required authenticated foothold plus the niche, low-footprint nature of the product mean it is far below the priority of a comparably-scored flaw in ubiquitous software. Treat as a standard high-priority patch for WeGIA deployments, not an emergency for the broader fleet. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An authenticated low-privilege WeGIA user who can reach the Material & Patrimônio module sends a crafted id_produto value in a request to web/html/matPat/restaurar_produto_desocultar.php; because extract($_REQUEST) overwrites the intval()-cleaned variable, the raw value is injected into the UPDATE statements. The attacker leverages this to read sensitive records or tamper with institutional and inventory data. No public exploit code is identified, but the vendor fix commit publicly reveals the exact vulnerable sink. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 14, 2026
Authenticated SQL injection in WeGIA versions prior to 3.8.6 allows a user with access to the Material & Patrimônio module to inject arbitrary SQL through the id_produto parameter of web/html/matPat/restaurar_produto_desocultar.php, enabling extraction of sensitive database records and modification of institutional and inventory data. The flaw is rated CVSS 3.1 base 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) and requires a valid low-privileged account plus module-level authorization, so anonymous visitors cannot trigger it. No public exploit identified at time of analysis; the vulnerable code path ships by default in affected releases and a vendor fix (3.8.6) is available.
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: upgrade WeGIA to version 3.8.6 or later, which removes the extract($_REQUEST) call and replaces the string-interpolated UPDATE statements in web/html/matPat/restaurar_produto_desocultar.php with bound parameters - see the release at https://github.com/LabRedesCefetRJ/WeGIA/releases/tag/3.8.6, the fix commit https://github.com/LabRedesCefetRJ/WeGIA/commit/8fa3dfcd71c2058c3b6127fdb40d3f1ec068be3e and advisory GHSA-9q8x-jqpj-23xp. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, apply the commit diff manually to the deployed file (delete the extract($_REQUEST) line and convert the three UPDATE statements to prepared statements with :idProduto bound), noting that manual edits will be overwritten at the next upgrade and must be re-verified. As compensating controls, restrict and audit accounts whose roles grant Material & Patrimônio module access, since exploitation requires an authenticated user at that privilege level (PR:L); block or heavily rate-limit/deprecate requests to web/html/matPat/restaurar_produto_desocultar.php at the web server or reverse proxy for non-administrative roles, accepting that legitimate product-restoration functionality will break for those users; and deploy WAF rules matching SQL metacharacters in the id_produto parameter, recognizing that WAF signatures are bypassable and only provide defense in depth. Also rotate database credentials and review produto, isaida and ientrada records and database logs for unauthorized modifications on any instance that ran a version prior to 3.8.6.

Technical ContextAI · show details
WeGIA is a PHP web application for charitable institutions, and the affected endpoint sits in the Material & Patrimônio module, which manages inventory products, entries (ientrada) and exits (isaida). The root cause is CWE-89 (SQL Injection) arising from PHP's variable-clobbering behavior: intval() is applied to id_produto for sanitization, but a subsequent extract($_REQUEST) re-imports the request variable into the local scope and overwrites the sanitized integer with the raw attacker-supplied string. That raw value is then string-interpolated directly into three UPDATE statements targeting the produto, isaida and ientrada tables ("UPDATE produto SET oculto=false WHERE id_produto=$id_produto;" and equivalents), so a crafted id_produto can terminate the WHERE clause and append arbitrary SQL. The upstream commit 8fa3dfcd71c2058c3b6127fdb40d3f1ec068be3e removes the extract($_REQUEST) call and rewrites the three statements to use bound parameters (:idProduto), which eliminates the injection class rather than merely filtering input. Because POST/GET parameters flow through $_REQUEST with no type enforcement, both the confidentiality and integrity impact are high, consistent with the assessed vector.

Lifecycle Timeline
2DescriptionCVE.org
WeGIA is a web manager for charitable institutions. Prior to 3.8.6, an authenticated user with access to the Material & Patrimônio module can submit id_produto to web/html/matPat/restaurar_produto_desocultar.php, where a second extract($_REQUEST) overwrites the value previously sanitized by intval(). The raw value is interpolated into UPDATE statements for the produto, isaida, and ientrada tables. An attacker can execute arbitrary SQL to extract sensitive database records or modify institutional and inventory data. This issue is fixed in version 3.8.6.

Executive ViewAI
WeGIA, an institutional management platform used to track material and asset (MatPat) records, contains an authenticated SQL injection flaw (CVE-2026-55681) that allows any user with access to the Material & Patrimônio module to read and alter the underlying database, including sensitive institutional and inventory data. Because triggering the flaw requires only a valid low-privileged account rather than anonymous access, the realistic threat actors are insiders, contractors, or anyone who has obtained legitimate credentials, narrowing the surface but raising the accountability and data-integrity stakes. Leadership should care because unauthorized modification of asset and inventory records directly undermines the trustworthiness of institutional reporting, and the vulnerable code path ships by default in affected releases, with no public exploit identified at time of analysis.
