Exploitation Conditions

Exploitation requires (1) a valid authenticated ASMobile (GIS Portal) account able to create a business reference and place an order, and (2) a highly privileged user subsequently opening that specific order in the OrderAdministration/AuftragsManager portal of VertiGIS WebOrderSystem - this admin interaction (UI:P) is the firing trigger, since on its own the injection is only self-XSS affecting the submitting user. Limiting factors: the attacker cannot self-trigger the privileged impact, must first obtain authenticated access, and is dependent on an administrator viewing the malicious order. Confirmed affected: WebOrderSystem 7.0.8.6; behavior on other versions is unverified because the vendor disclosed no additional affected versions.

Impact

This is a medium-severity stored cross-site scripting flaw (CWE-79, CVSS 4.0 base 5.1) and the available signals point to a moderate, not urgent, real-world risk. The provided CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P) shows network reach and low attack complexity, but two factors materially constrain exploitation: PR:L means the attacker must already hold a valid (low-privileged) authenticated ASMobile account, and UI:P means a separate highly-privileged administrator must passively open the malicious order in the AuftragsManager portal before the payload fires. The impact metrics (VC:N/VI:N/VA:N on the vulnerable system, with SC:L/SI:L on the subsequent system) correctly reflect that the damage lands in the privileged admin's browser context rather than on the ASMobile system itself - a cross-privilege escalation path, but limited in confidentiality/integrity effect. No EPSS score is present in the input, no CISA KEV listing applies, and no confirmed working exploit code is provided (only a SEC Consult advisory reference). The vuln.today decision label is 'this_month', consistent with a genuine issue that warrants scheduled remediation rather than emergency action. Net: a legitimate cross-privilege stored-XSS requiring insider/authenticated access plus admin interaction - prioritize for this patch cycle, but it is not a mass-exploitable, internet-facing emergency. EPSS data is absent, so probabilistic exploitation likelihood could not be weighed.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

A low-privileged but authenticated ASMobile user enters JavaScript into the 'business reference' field and places an order; the payload is stored in the order details. When a highly privileged operator later opens that order in the OrderAdministration (AuftragsManager) portal of VertiGIS WebOrderSystem, the script executes in the privileged user's session. A SEC Consult (SEC-VLab) advisory describes the issue, but no verified working exploit code was identified in the input.

AnalysisAIv1 – Oct 23, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in VertiGIS GIS Portal's ASMobile business-reference field can be carried into an order and executed in the OrderAdministration (AuftragsManager) portal of VertiGIS WebOrderSystem when a highly privileged user opens that order. Exploitation requires an authenticated ASMobile user who can create a business reference and place an order, followed by the privileged administrator interaction; WebOrderSystem 7.0.8.6 is confirmed affected, while other versions are unverified. No public exploit was identified at time of analysis, and the available signals indicate a moderate, not urgent, risk (CVSS 4.0 base 5.1; decision this_month).

RemediationAI

No vendor-released patch or fixed version is identified in the provided data, and the confirmed affected version is WebOrderSystem 7.0.8.6; the vendor advisory reference is https://r.sec-consult.com/vertigis. The supplied sources do not state a specific product-level workaround, so remediation should be tracked through that advisory and the vendor's guidance until a fixed release is published; other versions remain unverified because the vendor disclosed no additional affected versions. Because the stored payload fires only when a highly privileged user opens the tampered order in the OrderAdministration/AuftragsManager portal, the administrator review step is the exposure point identified in the evidence, but no configuration change is prescribed there.

Technical ContextAI · show details

The flaw is CWE-79 stored cross-site scripting in the workflow between two VertiGIS components. The ASMobile web interface in GIS Portal accepts a business reference from an authenticated user; that value is stored and included in order details, then rendered in the OrderAdministration portal (AuftragsManager) of WebOrderSystem. The supplied data indicates the JavaScript executes when a highly privileged user opens the order, so the entry point is self-XSS but the order workflow turns it into cross-user stored XSS. CPE data identifies the affected product as cpe:2.3:a:vertigis_ltd.:webordersystem_(auftragsmanager):*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*; the CVSS 4.0 vector is AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N, and the independent assessment records CVSS 3.1 AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The trigger is the privileged user opening the affected order; the sources do not describe any additional preconditions beyond authenticated access and that administrator interaction.

DescriptionCVE.org

The "ASMobile" web interface, which is part of the VertiGIS software package "GIS Portal", allows authenticated users to define a business reference. JavaScript code can be inserted into this field. On its own this only affects the user who entered it (self-XSS). However, the business reference is included in the order details when the user places an order through the web interface. The order is later listed in the OrderAdministration portal (AuftragsManager) of VertiGIS WebOrderSystem, where the stored code is executed as soon as a highly privileged user opens the order. Version 7.0.8.6 of WebOrderSystem, the latest available at the time of testing, is affected. The vendor did not provide information about further affected versions.
