| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitation requires a valid Vendor-role account (low-privilege authenticated session, PR:L per CVSS) on a Vvveb installation running any version prior to 1.0.8.4. The vulnerability is only impactful in multi-vendor deployments where multiple Vendor accounts coexist and tenant isolation is expected - a single-vendor instance has no cross-boundary assets to access. The attacker must reach the Vvveb admin panel over the network (AV:N), and no special non-default configuration is needed beyond the existence of more than one Vendor account. Limiting factors: exploitation is restricted to users who can obtain Vendor credentials (insider threat or credential compromise), and anonymous external attackers without a valid session are not directly affected. |
| Impact | The CVSS 3.1 score of 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) accurately reflects that a Vendor account reachable over the network can achieve high-impact outcomes across all three CIA dimensions with no interaction or complexity required. Real-world risk is significant exclusively in multi-vendor deployments - a single-vendor installation has no cross-tenant boundary to violate, sharply reducing effective blast radius. No EPSS data was provided and no CISA KEV listing is present, so exploitation probability is inferred from CVSS metrics and vulnerability class alone rather than observed threat activity. The combination of low attack complexity, low privilege requirement, and full-triad impact justifies treating this as a high priority for any multi-vendor Vvveb operator. Additionally, code analysis of the commit diff reveals that the index() function in digital-assets.php contains an unconditional $this->adminFilter = false; statement after the capability check, which may neutralize the ownership filter for asset listing operations even after patching - operators should verify fix effectiveness before assuming full remediation. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An authenticated Vendor on a shared Vvveb marketplace iterates digital_asset_id integers in HTTP requests to the /admin/product/digital-assets endpoint, enumerating asset names and file metadata across all other Vendors without triggering any authorization error. The same technique applied to the delete endpoint permanently removes a competitor's asset records, breaking their product listings, with no public exploit code required given the straightforward IDOR pattern. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Aug 18, 2026
Broken object-level authorization in Vvveb CMS prior to 1.0.8.4 allows an authenticated low-privilege Vendor to access, modify, or delete digital assets belonging to any other Vendor by supplying arbitrary digital_asset_id values to the admin digital asset controllers. The flaw spans listing, read, edit, and delete operations across both MySQL and PostgreSQL backends, enabling cross-tenant metadata disclosure, resource link corruption, and permanent data loss. No public exploit code or CISA KEV listing exists at time of analysis, but exploitation is technically trivial for any authenticated Vendor in a multi-vendor deployment.
RemediationAI
Upgrade to Vvveb CMS version 1.0.8.4, confirmed via the official GitHub release at https://github.com/givanz/Vvveb/releases/tag/1.0.8.4 and the fix commit at https://github.com/givanz/Vvveb/commit/0463ae60cda5085238b380bf53780ccf4be5dd50. Prior to patching, restrict Vendor-role accounts strictly to trusted internal users and audit digital asset access logs for digital_asset_id values that do not correspond to the requesting Vendor's own products. As a deeper compensating control, consider placing the Vvveb admin panel behind network-level access controls (VPN or IP allowlist) to limit who can authenticate as a Vendor at all - this trades administrative convenience for a meaningful reduction in exposure. Operators should independently verify that the index() listing function enforces the admin_id boundary in their deployed version, as the reviewed commit diff suggests that operation may remain unfiltered post-patch.

Technical ContextAI · show details
CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) describes an IDOR subtype where an application uses an attacker-supplied object identifier without verifying caller ownership. Here, the admin/controller/product/digital-asset.php (single-asset save/read) and admin/controller/product/digital-assets.php (bulk listing and delete) controllers forward a caller-controlled digital_asset_id to SQL stored procedures in admin/sql/mysqli/digital_asset.sql and admin/sql/pgsql/digital_asset.sql without consistently binding the query to the authenticated admin's admin_id. The patch introduces conditional @IF isset(:admin_id) THEN AND digital_asset.admin_id = :admin_id END @IF guards throughout the SQL layer and capability checks (edit_other_products, view_other_products) in the PHP controllers before disabling the admin ownership filter. Affected CPE: cpe:2.3:a:givanz:vvveb:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* covering all versions before 1.0.8.4.

2DescriptionCVE.org
Vvveb is a powerful and easy to use CMS with page builder to build websites, blogs or ecommerce stores. Prior to 1.0.8.4, Vvveb backend digital asset operations allow a low-privileged Vendor to access digital assets linked to another Vendor's products. The admin/controller/product/digital-asset.php and admin/controller/product/digital-assets.php controllers and the admin/sql/sqlite/digital_asset.sql data queries use a caller-controlled digital_asset_id without consistently enforcing the current admin_id ownership boundary. An attacker can list assets, read asset names and file metadata, edit asset metadata, or delete asset records, which can disclose private product metadata, corrupt resource links, and cause data loss. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.8.4.
Executive ViewAI
Vvveb CMS versions prior to 1.0.8.4 contain a critical authorization flaw allowing any authenticated low-privilege vendor to access, modify, or delete digital assets belonging to other vendors in multi-tenant deployments. Though no public exploit has been identified at time of analysis, the flaw is trivially exploitable by legitimate vendor accounts, creating significant risk of cross-tenant data theft, corruption, and permanent loss. Organizations operating multi-vendor Vvveb CMS instances must prioritize immediate mitigation of this high-risk authorization bypass.
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations include: restrict vendor account creation pending patch availability; implement application-layer access controls validating vendor ownership before asset operations; isolate multi-vendor environments or segregate vendor data until patched; monitor asset modification logs for unauthorized cross-vendor access; conduct vendor access audits to detect exploitation attempts.
