DescriptionCVE.org

OutSystems Service Center is vulnerable to a DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attack that can be exploited by a low-privileged attacker via the upload of a file with a malicious filename containing JavaScript code. The vulnerability exists in all locations where a file can be attached and prepared for upload to the server.

This issue was fixed in OutSystems Service Center version 11.41.2

AnalysisAI

DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting in OutSystems Service Center (all versions before 11.41.2) allows a low-privileged authenticated user to inject malicious JavaScript by uploading a file with a crafted filename, which executes in the browser context of other users - typically higher-privileged administrators - who subsequently view the rendered filename. The flaw affects every file attachment location within Service Center. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must hold a valid low-privileged account in the OutSystems Service Center environment - unauthenticated exploitation is not possible per the CVSS 4.0 PR:L metric. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 score of 4.8 (Medium) accurately reflects the constrained exploitation profile: the attacker must hold valid low-privileged credentials, and a higher-privileged victim must actively interact with the malicious filename in their browser session (UI:A), which materially reduces the likelihood of opportunistic mass exploitation. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade OutSystems Service Center to version 11.41.2 or later, which contains the vendor-confirmed fix for this vulnerability. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
