Exploitation Conditions

Requires an authenticated account with contributor-level privileges or above (PR:L) on a site where the Travelly / Tour Booking Manager plugin ≤2.3.6 is installed and the [ttbm-hotel-map] shortcode is usable. The attacker injects payloads through the 'width', 'height', or 'zoom' shortcode attributes, which are concatenated as raw values into double-quoted attributes of an <iframe> tag without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation is limited by the need for a contributor-or-higher account (so single-admin sites and sites without open registration are largely insulated) and by the stored nature: the payload only fires when a user renders the injected page, though no explicit per-view user interaction beyond normal page viewing is required.

Impact

This is a moderate-severity, authenticated stored XSS (CVSS 6.4, CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N) in the Travelly / Tour Booking Manager WordPress plugin. The network vector with low complexity and no user interaction raises exposure, but PR:L is the key limiter: an attacker needs a valid contributor-level (or higher) account, which bounds this to multi-author sites or environments with open/weak registration. The scope change (S:C) reflects script execution in the browsers of other users, including potentially higher-privileged ones who view the injected page, which is the main escalation path. No EPSS score and no CISA KEV entry were supplied, and there is no public exploit reference in the input, so there is no signal of active or widespread exploitation. The vuln.today decision label is 'this_month' (not act_now/emergency), consistent with a real but non-urgent fix priority. Overall this is a genuine but second-tier issue: credible on multi-author WordPress sites, low real-world risk on single-admin deployments where contributor accounts do not exist.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker holding a contributor-level account on a WordPress site running Travelly ≤2.3.6 creates or edits a page containing the [ttbm-hotel-map] shortcode and injects a JavaScript payload through the 'width', 'height', or 'zoom' attribute, which is concatenated unescaped into the <iframe> HTML. When an editor, administrator, or site visitor subsequently views that page, the script executes in their browser session. No public exploit code is referenced in the available data.

AnalysisAIv1 – Oct 28, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in the Travelly - Tour & Travel Booking Manager for WooCommerce WordPress plugin (Tour Booking Manager) through version 2.3.6 lets an authenticated attacker with contributor-level access or above inject arbitrary script into pages via the 'width', 'height' and 'zoom' attributes of the [ttbm-hotel-map] shortcode. The ttbm_hotel_map_shortcode() function concatenates raw attribute values into double-quoted attributes of an <iframe> tag, so payloads are persisted and execute when a user views the affected page. Scored CVSS 6.4 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N), the flaw requires a contributor-or-higher account, which limits exposure on single-admin sites and those without open registration; no public exploit or active exploitation is reported, and the plugin repository shows an upstream code change (changeset 3757674) that has not been mapped to a confirmed patched release.

RemediationAI

A code change addressing the shortcode attribute handling is present in the plugin repository at https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3757674/tour-booking-manager/trunk/inc/TTBM_Shortcodes.php, which corresponds to sanitizing/escaping the 'width', 'height' and 'zoom' values in ttbm_hotel_map_shortcode(); a tagged release version containing this fix is not independently confirmed in the available data, so administrators should check the plugin's changelog and update to the first version published after changeset 3757674 (all installations at 2.3.6 or below are affected). Because the flaw is reachable only by contributor-level or higher users, reduce exposure in the interim by auditing existing accounts with contributor or greater privileges and removing or downgrading untrusted ones, and by disabling open registration that grants authoring roles; this lowers the attack surface without removing the underlying vulnerability. Review existing posts and pages that embed [ttbm-hotel-map] for unexpected attribute values as a detection measure. Technical ContextAI · show details

The affected component is the WordPress plugin Travelly - Tour & Travel Booking Manager for WooCommerce (slug tour-booking-manager, vendor magepeopleteam), matched by CPE cpe:2.3:a:magepeopleteam:travelly_-_tour_&_travel_booking_manager_for_woocommerce. The root cause is CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation / cross-site scripting): the shortcode handler ttbm_hotel_map_shortcode() in inc/TTBM_Shortcodes.php takes the shortcode attributes 'width', 'height' and 'zoom' and concatenates them directly into double-quoted HTML attributes of an <iframe> element without sanitizing input or escaping output. WordPress shortcode attributes are attacker-supplied content stored in post content, so a contributor-level user who can create or edit posts can embed the shortcode with crafted attribute values (for example breaking out of the quoted attribute context) and have markup persist in the database. The resulting script executes in the browser of any user who renders the page, and because the injected iframe attributes affect page structure, the CVSS scope is recorded as Changed. The exact parsing behaviour that allows attribute break-out is visible in the referenced tagged source lines (TTBM_Shortcodes.php#L76 and #L91 at tag 2.3.6); no further trigger detail is given in the available sources beyond the raw concatenation.

DescriptionCVE.org

The Tour Booking Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'width', 'height' and 'zoom' shortcode attributes of the [ttbm-hotel-map] shortcode in versions up to, and including, 2.3.6 This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes in the ttbm_hotel_map_shortcode() function, which concatenates the raw attribute values into double-quoted HTML attributes of an <iframe> tag. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
