1DescriptionCVE.org
QuickCMS is vulnerable to multiple Stored XSS in page editor functionality (pages-form). Malicious attacker with admin privileges can inject arbitrary HTML and JS into website, which will be rendered/executed when visiting edited page. By default admin user is not able to add JavaScript into the website.
The vendor was notified early about this vulnerability, but didn't respond with the details of vulnerability or vulnerable version range. Only version 6.8 was tested and confirmed as vulnerable, other versions were not tested and might also be vulnerable.
AnalysisAI
Stored cross-site scripting in the Quick.Cms page editor (pages-form) allows an authenticated administrator to inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript that is persisted and then executed in the browser of any user who later visits the edited page. Only version 6.8 has been tested and confirmed vulnerable; the vendor was notified early but did not respond with vulnerability details or an affected version range, so other versions remain untested and may also be affected. A key limiting factor noted by the researcher is that Quick.Cms by default does not allow the admin user to insert JavaScript into the site, meaning full script execution likely depends on a non-default configuration that permits raw HTML/script entry; EPSS is low at 0.19% (8th percentile), and no public exploit code or confirmed active exploitation was identified at time of analysis.
Technical ContextAI
The issue is a CWE-79 improper neutralization of input during web page generation (cross-site scripting) in the OpenSolution Quick.Cms content management system, tracked against the CPE cpe:2.3:a:opensolution:quick.cms:6.8. The vulnerability lives in the page-editing functionality (pages-form), where stored content is subsequently rendered to visitors without adequate output encoding or input sanitization. Because the payload is persisted rather than reflected, the malicious markup is stored server-side and fires whenever a user loads the affected page, which is why the assessed vector uses scope change (S:C) with limited confidentiality and integrity impact (C:L/I:L) rather than a full defacement or data-exfiltration claim. The CVSS v4.0 vector supplied by the reporter (CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:P) is network-reachable but requires high privileges (PR:H) and passive user interaction (UI:P), and our independent assessment maps this to CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, i.e. a post-authentication, admin-only XSS. The programmatic execution of injected JavaScript is further gated by a default Quick.Cms configuration in which the administrator account cannot add JavaScript to the site, so exploitation in practice presumes an operator has loosened that restriction or otherwise enabled raw HTML/script entry in the editor.
RemediationAI
No vendor-released patch or fixed version was identified at time of analysis: the vendor was notified early but did not respond with vulnerability details, an affected version range, or a fix, so there is no exact upgrade target to cite. The most effective compensating control is to harden the page editor itself - enforce server-side output encoding and sanitization of the pages-form content on render (for example an HTML sanitizer with a strict allowlist), and explicitly disable the configuration or plugin that permits raw HTML/JavaScript entry by administrators; the trade-off is that legitimate embedded content or rich formatting may need to be re-implemented through the sanitizer's allowlist. As a second layer, deploy a Content-Security-Policy header that disallows inline script and restricts script-src to trusted origins, which blocks the injected payload from executing even if it is stored, at the cost of potentially breaking legitimate inline scripts on the site. Because exploitation requires a high-privilege admin account, restrict administrative access to a trusted network or VPN, enforce unique credentials and MFA on admin logins, and monitor administrator account activity for unauthorized page edits; note that these reduce but do not eliminate the risk from a malicious insider or an already-compromised admin session. Until a vendor fix exists, treat Quick.Cms 6.8 as untrusted for admin-authored rich content and periodically audit stored page bodies for injected markup. Monitor https://cert.pl/posts/2025/10/CVE-2025-9980 and https://opensolution.org/cms-system-quick-cms.html for a vendor advisory, and validate any remediation against a test instance before rolling it out.
