2DescriptionCVE.org
An arbitrary file upload vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to improper input validation in the CarbonAppUploader admin service endpoint. An authenticated attacker with appropriate privileges can upload a malicious file to a user-controlled location on the server, potentially leading to remote code execution (RCE).
This functionality is restricted by default to admin users; therefore, successful exploitation requires valid credentials with administrative permissions.
AnalysisAI
An arbitrary file upload vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to improper input validation in the CarbonAppUploader admin service endpoint. Rated medium severity (CVSS 6.7), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, low attack complexity. No vendor patch available.
Technical ContextAI
This vulnerability is classified as Unrestricted File Upload (CWE-434), which allows attackers to upload malicious files that can be executed on the server. Affected products include: Wso2 Api Control Plane, Wso2 Api Manager, Wso2 Enterprise Integrator, Wso2 Identity Server, Wso2 Identity Server As Key Manager.
RemediationAI
No vendor patch is available at time of analysis. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Validate file types server-side, store uploads outside webroot, use random filenames, scan for malware.
