The HUSKY - Products Filter Professional for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.6.5 via the 'template' parameter of the woof_text_search AJAX action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to include and execute arbitrary files on the server, allowing the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where images and other “safe” file types can be uploaded and included.
AnalysisAI
The HUSKY Products Filter Professional for WooCommerce plugin through version 1.3.6.5 contains a critical Local File Inclusion vulnerability via the template parameter of the woof_text_search AJAX action. Unauthenticated attackers can include and execute arbitrary PHP files, leading to remote code execution on any WordPress site with the plugin.
Technical ContextAI
The woof_text_search AJAX action (registered via wp_ajax_nopriv, requiring no authentication) accepts a template parameter that is passed to a PHP include statement without proper sanitization. Attackers can traverse directories to include arbitrary PHP files. Combined with techniques like log poisoning, PHP filter chains, or /proc/self/environ injection, this LFI becomes full RCE.
Affected ProductsAI
HUSKY – Products Filter Professional for WooCommerce <= 1.3.6.5 WOOF – Products Filter for WooCommerce (legacy name)
RemediationAI
Update to HUSKY version 1.3.6.6 or later immediately. Review server logs for suspicious requests to the woof_text_search AJAX action. Implement a WAF rule blocking path traversal sequences in AJAX parameters.
