Description

Netskope was notified about a potential gap in its agent (NS Client) on Windows systems. If this gap is successfully exploited, a local, authenticated user with Administrator privileges can improperly load the driver as a generic kernel service. This triggers the flaw, causing a system crash (Blue-Screen-of-Death) and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected machine.

Analysis

Netskope was notified about a potential gap in its agent (NS Client) on Windows systems. Rated medium severity (CVSS 5.9), this vulnerability is low attack complexity. No vendor patch available.

Technical Context

This vulnerability is classified as NULL Pointer Dereference (CWE-476), which allows attackers to crash the application by dereferencing a null pointer.

Affected Products

See vendor advisory for affected versions.

Remediation

No vendor patch is available at time of analysis. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Check pointers before dereferencing. Use static analysis tools to detect null pointer paths.
